Last Friday we had Mission Day. After morning tea I bought lollies from Sr Evalesi. They tasted sweet and were crunchy in my mouth. Next I went to the lunch room and bought an ice block. It tasted like lemon juice. Next Heneliena painted a sparkly rainbow on my face. After lunch we went to Room 1 to watch a movie called Star. It was about Mary and Joseph. We ate buttery and salty popcorn while we watched the movie.
We had a great time at mission Day.

The Noisy Traffic
I can see the trucks rumbling along the the road. The cars are speeding and I can smell the burning rubber. The ground is shaking when the heavy trucks go past our school. The motorbikes roar as they go past. It is very noisy.

My Trip To The Beach
Learning goal: We are learning to write a Recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write an orientation, events in order, and an ending.
In the holidays my family and I went to the beach.
I went for a swim. It was a hot day. I saw a dolphin jumping in the water. Mum bought me an ice cream. I said thank you.
We packed up and went back home.

Popcorn
Learning goal: We are learning to write a descriptive text.
Success criteria: We can do this when we can describe popcorn using our five senses.
Today we made popcorn. It popped like fire crackers. It looked white and yellow. It felt bumpy and lumpy. It tasted buttery and salty. It smelt delicious when it was cooked in the microwave. It was crunchy in my mouth.
